Andrew Tickell- Scotlands Law and Constitution

Last week saw lecturer in Law and The National columnist Andrew Tickell address the group to speak on Brexit, the Law and Scotland’s constitution. It was an extremely well attended event with people travelling from  across Lanarkshire and Glasgow hear Andrew speak passionately and with humour about Brexit and how it affects Scotland’s quest for independence.

It’s clear that there is still a great deal of work to be done, because we are still in the ‘phoney war’stage of Brexit, and while it’s admirable that support for independence has held up, it’s concerning that despite the shambles of the Brexit negotiations, support hasn’t increased by any measurable margin. This could change at any time though, and we must remain ready and focused for that happening. That means we MUST continue to make the case for independence, and point out how much the union is failing us, at home, at work and as a society.

Our next meeting is on Saturday 1st December at 11am in Airdrie Library. Please do come and join us.
